Quick Look At Roster

With National Signing Day peaking from around the corner, and with the current commitment list beginning to get stashed full of players, what better time to take a quick peak at the roster than now? Attrition has hit the roster, and most likely will continue to hit the Marshall roster. That is one reason why you see this class continue to get a little bit bigger.

Heading into recruiting season most experts assumed Marshall would have a small class, seeing as how only eight players walked across the field on senior day. However, with the exits of a handful of other players, the ability to sign more players has arisen.

I have put together a list of number which should coincide with what we have in each class. Keep in mind this includes players which may eventually leave, and excludes a couple players who as of now, are just rumored to possibly be departing.

By my account, we should have 21 seniors, 15 juniors, 20 sophomores, and 8 freshman. This is based solely off of the roster listed on Herdzone.com. That is a total of 64.

In addition to that we have five recruits from last season who will be eligible now. Those players are Kent Turene, Corey Tindall, Tyler Combs, Gary Thompson and Larry Jefferson.

Two other recruits are already enrolled in Kevin Anderson and Taj Letman. Arnold Blackmon also signed a mid year letter of intent.

Marshall currently has commitments from 14 additional players: Neville Hewitt, Chris Huhn, Lakeith Murray, Deontay McManus, Jeremy Benjamin, Angelo Jean – Louis, Stefan Houston, , Chocolate Wilson, Aaron Plantt, Josh Knight, Michael Selby, Gerald Wright, Cody Collins and Justin Hunt.

That brings the total to 86. One has to assume that their will be a few non qualifiers included on the list above. Add that with the fact that each class tends to have a couple greyshirts, and the fact that attrition may hit the roster as well, and it should come as no surprise if the Herd adds four, five, or even six more commitments.
