Herd Baseball Takes Down #19 Houston

Marshall's baseball team has had quite the up and down season leading into tonight's game with the number 19 Houston Cougars. It would be the fourth CUSA game of the season. Houston, heading into the series, had taken 19 of 24 games against the Herd.

Houston stormed out of the gates today and ran out to a commanding 13 to 4 lead at Power Park in Charleston, WV.

Marshall bounced back with an astounding fifteen unanswered runs to beat the Cougars 19 to 13.

Marshall's Isaac Ballou, Eric Escobedo, and Grey Stafford each tallied three hits apiece. Marshall, as a team ended the game by collecting 21 base hits.

Sergio Leon and Nathan Gomez each blasted homeruns, and Leon ended the game with six RBI's.

The Herd's Kolin Stanley and Matt Margaritondo came in and cooled off the Cougar bats after their big start. Stanley earned the victory.

Marshall improved to 2 – 2 in CUSA play and has staff ace Aaron Blair going for the series win tomorrow afternoon at 2:05pm against the Cougars.
