Marshall Offers Safety

Marshall offensive line coach Alex Mirabel may be small in nature but he has hit the ground running with some big time offers handed out to some of south Florida's highest rated players. Mirabel may be the offensive line coach, but he expects to step in and help with the loss of JaJuan Seider in regards to keeping Marshall in the mix in south Florida.

His most recent offer came last week to Park Vista High School, Lake Worth, Florida athlete Marques Gayot.

Gayot is a 6'3", 205 pound safety who runs a 4.53, 40. Gayot is listed as a three star wide receiver but said, "I expect to play safety, but would have no problem moving down to linebacker if they needed me to."

Gayot holds an offer from the Herd, but also has an offer from Louisville. It is being reported that Gayot has committed to the Cardinals as of today.

Gayot said when asked where Marshall was on his list of favorites, and he said, "I would say in the middle because I would be able to come in and play right away."

Gayot is also interested in LSU, Georgia and Kentucky. His number one choice at the time of the interview was Michigan but he did not have an offer as of then.

Gayot advised me, "I will most likely commit before my season starts." He held to this with his commitment to Louisville.

This story will be updated as the recruiting season progresses to see if the Herd is able to maintain in play with Gayot.
