Sandley Jean-Felix

Marshall loaded up on offensive lineman with the 2013 recruiting class. The Herd lost John Bruhin from last years class, and junior college lineman Billy Rone left the program. A couple other offensive lineman moved to the defensive side of the football.

The Herd has loaded up on talented offensive lineman in the last two recruiting classes. The 2012 class consisted of Eric Ansley, Cameron Dees, Tyler Combs, Josh Murriel, and Gage Niemeyer. The 2013 class consists of Cody Collins, Gerald Wright, Chris Huhn, Michael Selby and the player to be spoken about today, Sandley Jean-Felix.

Jean Felix is a large offensive tackle. He stands 6'5", and weighs 305 pounds, he is a talented multi sport star from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Boyd Anderson has produced a number of solid players for the Herd over the years. Most notably Kent Turene, Corey Tindal, and the recently departed Marques Aiken.

While speaking to Jean Felix, he mentioned that he talks to Turene and Tindal quite a bit about football and other things in general. He also mentioned that Aiken visited him at track practice one afternoon.

Jean-Felix was the 93rd ranked offensive tackle in the country.

Jean-Felix expects to be on campus on June 9th or June 10th. It will be his first visit back to Huntington since his official visit. I asked Jean-Felix if he kept tabs on Marshall's spring practice the past month or so, and he said, "yes, I followed all the spring practice reports that I could." As mentioned before, he also talked with Turene and Tindal.

Jean-Felix cannot wait to get to campus, and said, "I plan to make a major impact on the offensive side of the football." "I am looking forward to blossoming at Marshall and, God Willing, get a shot at the NFL."

Jean-Felix expects to be fully eligible and most likely will play tackle. Felix truly is greatful for this opportunity. "My family is from Haiti. For me to be on a scholarship and them to not have to pay is truly a blessing and a relief to them, and me. I will make sure I do my best to keep that scholarship."

Marshall loses multiple offensive lineman due to graduation after this season. Those lineman include starters Alex Schooler, Garrett Scott and Gage Niemeyer, along with Jordan Jeffries coming off of the bench.
