Marshall Offers Wide Receiver

Marshall University's football program is known for quite a few things. Of course there is the Movie, "We Are Marshall," and there is the winning (most wins in the 1990's," and then there are the players. Sure, the Herd produced Ahmad Bradshaw, Chad Pennington, and Byron Leftwich, but one of the primary positions Marshall has produced, wide receiver.

Troy Brown started the run of successful wide receivers, then there was of course the greatest one in Herd history, Randy Moss. Following those two were Nate Poole and James Williams, both of whom made solid careers in the NFL. The most recent to venture into the league is Aaron Dobson, who was a second round pick by the New England Patriots.

Dobson, has exhausted his eligibility, and Head Coach Doc Holliday is on the lookout for the next outside wide receiver. Recently, the Herd has offered a wide out from Georgia who fits the mold of an X receiver in anyone's offense.

Wide Receiver, Nate Brown, is a tall, 6'3", 210 pound wide receiver from North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. He has received an offer from Marshall, and is being heavily recruited by former University of Georgia star running back, and newest addition to the Herd coaching staff, Thomas Brown.

Brown has multiple offers and per his own words has no favorites at this time, "although, I do have interest in Stanford and will be attending camp there this summer."

Brown should have no issues gaining eligible as evidenced by the interest in Stanford and the fact he has an offer in hand from Yale. Brown also has offers from Illinois, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Charlotte and Minnesota.

Brown is currently rated three stars from scout.com.

Last season, Brown had 41 catches for 481 yards, and nine touchdowns.

Brown is keeping an open mind on his recruitment, even though he is not that familiar with Marshall at this time.
