Hunt Excited to Begin Career

With summer fast approaching, the Class of 2013 will gradually be making their arrivals to Huntington. Head Coach Doc Holliday signed one of the best classes in school history, if not the best. Now, their careers begin. I have already caught up with a few of the signees, and today we venture to the offensive side of the ball.

Wide Receiver Justin Hunt is a two star prospect from Memphis, Tennessee. I have caught up with Hunt on multiple occasions and each time he reiterates how excited he is to get to Marshall and start his college career.

Hunt is a 6'3", nearly 200 pound wide out, who attended WhiteHaven High School in Memphis. At one point it appeared he would be staying close to home to go to school, but Marshall got his commitment shortly after his visit. He actually was originally recruited by former defensive backs coach Lytrell Pollard. Pollard left to go to Southern Mississippi, and did speak to Hunt, but Hunt stayed true to the rest of the staff at Marshall.

Hunt also had offers from Memphis and Arkansas State.

Hunt will be arriving to Marshall on June 9th. He constantly stays in contact with both Doc Holliday and wide receivers coach Mike Furrey. He talks to Coach Furrey as often as possible and both hope he can get here and get on the field.

Furrey is excited to arrive, he is unaware of who is roommate will be at this time, and although he doesn't know what number he will get yet, he is hoping for Antavious Wilson's old number 9.

On a side note, he loves Memphis Barbeque.

Stay tuned to for further updates as the 2013 commits begin to arrive on campus.
