Tight End Commits To Marshall

The early season run on commits for the Herd continues as Marshall receives a commitment from a tight end from South Carolina. Marshall has been on the recruiting trail hot and heavy and has secured commitments from more players this early than in quite some time.

One of the newest members of the coaching staff is responsible for the most recent high school prospect's commitment. Former NFL wide receiver and current Marshall wide receivers coach, Mike Furrey, dipped down into Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to snag the commitment from tight end Ryan Yurachek.

Yurachek is a 6'2.5", 225 pound tight end from Carolina Forrest High School. Yurachek visited the Marshall campus back in April and nearly committed a week ago, before committing today. Yurachek also had offers from Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, Holy Cross, and The Citadel.

I asked Yurachek what he liked most about Marshall and he said, "good football tradition and they are known for their unique up tempo offense. " He also really likes the coaching staff. He met current tight end Gator Hoskins while on his trip.

Marshall currently has on its roster two very good tight ends returning with a lot of experience. The aforementioned Hoskins, who is a senior, and true junior Eric Frohnapfel. Stephone Grace and Joe Woodrum also had good spring camps, but have not played in a game to this point.
