Herd Offers JUCO Running Back

Doc Holliday has said since the date he was hired that his goal was to bring in the best possible players year in and year out via the recruiting route. He wanted to recruit players to Marshall that would have the ability to lead the Herd to championships. Holliday and his staff currently have eight players committed early to coming to play for Marshall.

Marshall recently offered Tobias Lofton, a 6'0", 190 pound running back from Itawamba Community College in Mississippi. Lofton was second on the team last year in rushing as a freshman. Lofton rushed for 365 yards and one touchdown. He also had 8 receptions for 95 yards.

Lofton was offered by one of the newer coaches on the Marshall coaching staff, former University of Georgia running back Thomas Brown. Lofton expects to play running back at the next level. Lofton also is on pace to finish junior college in December. He would be able to enroll at a college of his choice and participate in spring drills.

Lofton is interested in Marshall, but is still in the learning process about the school and the program. He currently does not have a top three, and will allow the recruiting process to unfold. Lofton says that his, "speed, vision, and quickness," are his strong points.
