Marshall Connection

Boyd Anderson High School has been a pipeline recently for Marshall's football program. In the past few years Marques Aiken, Sandley Jean-Felix, Kent Turene, and Corey Tindal, have joined the Herd football program from the South Florida High School.

Marshall has recently jumped into the mix with three star defensive back Derrick Tindal. Recognize the last name? Herd fans should, Tindal is the cousin of current Marshall starting nickel back Corey Tindal.

Currently Corey is 8th on the team in total tackles. He has also registered 3.5 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, and a half of a sack.

Marshall is surely interested in Tindal, and why not, his cousin was able to step in and start immediately as a freshman after a long road to Huntington saw Corey go through the University of Georgia, The Atlanta Sports Academy and a year off getting eligible.

Derrick Tindal currently holds offers from Marshall, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, and Bowling Green and is garnering interest from numerous other schools. Tindal recently picked up an offer from Syracuse as well.

Tindal is a 5'11" 165 pound defensive back with good size, speed and ball skills. Tindal is the 117th ranked cornerback in the country and has three stars from

Marshall currently has two seniors and a fourth year junior at the defensive back position so it is definitely a spot of need. Seniors Monterius Lovett and Derrick Thomas will be graduating this year, and Darryl Roberts next year.
