Marshall vs FIU: Inside the Numbers

Marshall has not reached the eight win mark since the final game of the 2003 football season. Most Marshall fans, ended that year in disappointment as the school missed a bowl for the first time since its arrival to the 1-A (now FBS) level. Little did they know, it would be ten years before the program would even have a chance to garner that eighth win again.

That is exactly what the Herd will be going for when they venture back to the South Florida area for the second time in two months to take on Florida International. Marshall has over 30 scholarship football players from the state of Florida, and the majority of them will be travelling home this weekend. Marshall, a 33 point favorite, need only to win this game to set up a pseudo CUSA East championship game next Friday at home against East Carolina.
