Four Star LB Set to Visit

Last season defensive line coach JC Price ventured further north than the recruiting areas of Florida and Georgia and reeled in a big time commit in Stephan Houston. Houston later signed with the Herd, reported to campus and amassed 41 tackles.

In addition to the tackles, the 6'3", 220 pound linebacker also finished fourth on the team in tackles for loss with 5.5, he also had .5 sacks. Houston played in 11 of the Herd's 14 games after bouncing back from a summer injury.

It should come as no surprise that Price is now trying to get Raymon Minor to come to Marshall. Minor will actually make an official visit today, and be here throughout the weekend. While Houston was a lower rated star, he actually was a one time Maryland commit. Minor comes in with a much higher rating. Minor is the 7th ranked linebacker in the nation, the highest rated uncommitted linebacker in the nation, and is carrying with him four stars.

Marshall looks to add a four star recruit to their class for the second consecutive season. Angelo Jean Louis was a four star wide receiver that signed with Marshall last year as a non qualifier and is eligible to play this spring.

Minor played this past season for Benedictine High School in Virginia and has offers from multiple BCS schools including Virginia Tech, Miami, Nebraska, West Virginia and Clemson.

I asked Minor if he would consider Marshall one of his top three at this time and he said yes, although he is still unsure of when he may make an announcement.

Minor is an outside linebacker. As mentioned previous, he is rated four stars, and ranked as the seventh best outside linebacker in the class of 2014.

With two weeks remaining until signing day, stay tuned to for further updates and instant developments.
