Herd in Search of Tackles

Doc Holliday and his staff continue to be on the lookout for offensive tackles. The Herd has searched the high school ranks, prep school ranks, and the JUCO ranks to get players to replace the three departing senior offensive tackles. The Herd also lost another would be senior, before the season started in Corey Tinney.

The Herd recently received visits from Brandon Mitchell, and Raul Martinez and still hope to get a visit from West Virginia commit Justin Scott. Just this week the Herd staff, most notably offensive line coach, Alex Mirabel reached out to the west coast to get in contact with a JUCO tackle from Santa Rosa Junior College.

Marshall has not extended an offer, but is interested, and hopes to get a visit. The visit however, may not come until March as the prospect has some things to get cleared up, no legal issues, or academic issues.

The player in question is Dante Cattaneo. The 6'4", 285 pound tackle originally committed to San Jose State. However, when Cattaneo was not able to enroll early, his recruitment opened back up.

Cattaneo is rated two stars by scout.com.
