Wide Receiver Commits

Two weekends ago Marshall welcomed a group of eleven talented prospects to campus. By the time the week was over, the Herd had nailed down four commitments out of the group. One of the visitors wasn't well known at the time, and flew under the radar as the other commitments came in. Did he commit this week?

The answer, yes. Wide receiver Quincy Perdue visited the Marshall campus the week of January 17th. At the time, he had an offer from Marshall, and his lead recruiter was running backs coach, and former Georgia running back Thomas Brown. Perdue is from Lassiter, Georgia.

Perdue is a three star wide receiver ranked number 131 at his position. Perdue's strengths have to be his size. He stands at 6'2" tall and weighs a little over 200 pounds. He ended his senior season at Lassiter, which is in Marietta Georgia, with 16 touchdowns.

Perdue also had an offer from Troy, and visited the Auburn camp this past off season.

Perdue let the Marshall staff know early this week of his decision. He said when he told Coach Brown he said, "Congratulations and welcome to the family, you are going to love it here." He said they were very excited to learn of his commitment.

Perdue really enjoyed his visit. He said, "I loved the tradition about the place and the most fun thing was actually getting to go up and see what things were like." Perdue was shown around by wide receivers Davonte Allen and Justin Hunt.

Perdue expects to be fully eligible and get a chance to compete right away.
