Four More Commit

Recruiting fans can take a look at the Marshall recruiting class and wonder how it is going to play out. One can only assume that the staff knows the numbers situation, however, the class must be getting tight, especially with the success the Marshall staff enjoyed over this past weekend.

The Herd staff, led by recruiting coordinator Todd Hartley, received the commitments from four potential scholar athletes this weekend. Three of the commitments came after players completed their official visits, and one came from a player who visited campus last weekend.

Let's get right down to it:

Fredrice Binot – Binot splashed onto the scene this past weekend. Binot is a teammate of Georgia commit Kendall Gant, both visited campus this past weekend. Binot is an unrated offensive lineman who is 6'3", 270 pounds. He has been touted as a , "very good player, " by many of those who have covered his career at Lake Gibson High School.

Josh Black – Black visited Marshall two weekends ago. Black is 6'2", and according to one scout, "a solid 230 pounds." Black had an excellent senior season at Sickles High School in Tampa, Florida. He ended his senior campaign with 19 sacks. Black is rated two stars and had offers from Arizona, Bowling Green, FIU, Iowa State, South Florida and Marshall. Black had made visits to Marshall, Arizona, Toledo and South Florida.

Demetrius Johnson – The safety from Annapolis Area Christian School checks in as Marshall's first ever commit from the US Army All American Bowl. Johnson is an underrated safety rated two stars and the 141st best linebacker in the country. Johnson played wide receiver in the Army All American Bowl. Johnson will most likely play safety at Marshall. Johnson is 6'2", 201 pounds and chose Marshall over an offer from Syracuse.

Nathaniel Devers – Devers is the number 17th ranked center in the nation. Devers is rated three stars by and was the highest rated recruit in the Cincinnati recruiting class before flipping to the Herd this past weekend after his visit. Devers is 6'4", 270 pounds. Devers is from Masillon Ohi, he attended Washington High School.

Speaking of players flipping late in the game. Marshall is on the radar of two such players as National Signing Day quickly approaches.

In one other note, three star wide receiver Quincy Perdue from Georgia, is no longer a Marshall commit.
