Three in January?

Over the years, Marshall has always seemed to find defensive ends who could be game changers. Defensive ends who throughout their careers were able to step up and win football games, and push the Herd to Championships. Doc Holliday has been looking for defensive ends the past year, who has he gotten to continue the run of solid defensive ends?

The current Marshall football roster contains multiple solid defensive ends. However, when looking closer, two of those players are seniors in Ra'shawde Myers and Arnold Blackmon, and Armonze Daniel is a junior.

Marshall has recently received a commitment from a 6'5, 260 pound junior college transfer who should be able step in next year and take over the roll of the departing players. Riverside Community College in Riverside, California is the current home of Jeremiah Mitchell. Mitchell recently committed to Alex Mirabal and Doc Holliday to continue his career with the Herd.

The addition of Mitchell, who could potentially be a mid year enrollee will bring the number of new defensive ends eligible for spring practice next season to three. That is because 2014 class members Jason Smith, of East Coast Prep, and Malik Thompson, of Fork Union Military Academy, are on campus now setting out, and will be practicing in January.

All three players, along with 2014 class member Ryan Bee hope to continue the defensive end tradition.

Some of the defensive end names over the years are, John Duncan, Paul Toviessi, B.J. Cohen, Johnathan Goddard, Vinny Curry, Jamus Martin, Alex Bazzie, Jeremiah Taylor and many others.

The commitment of Mitchell brings the current 2015 commitment list to 7 for the Herd. Mitchell joins, Kyle Belack, Alex Locklear, Logan Grieser, Delvin Weems, Chase Litton, and Marquis Couch.
