Marshall Gets Another Commitment

Alex Mirabal, offensive line coach for the Marshall Thundering Herd continues to bring in commitments from across the country. The most recent commitment will add to Mirabal's own unit as he received word from a big offensive lineman from south Florida, that the prospect intends on continuing his career in the Green and White.

Mirabal and Head Coach Doc Holliday have been working on rebuilding the offensive line depth chart that has been thinned out in the previous few months.

Jason Jean, offensive guard from Miami Central High School committed to his lead recruiter, Mirabal, recently and is looking forward to continuing his career. Jean is a 6'2", 285 pound lineman who will play mostly left tackle during his upcoming senior season with Central.

Jean makes the second Miami Central player to commit to Marshall thus far. Three star linebacker Marquis Couch committed in February. Marshall is also heavily recruiting Fermin Silva from Miami Central. Jean, when asked about playing college football with Couch said, "I am very excited because he is someone that I know and he is a good football player."

Miami Central also sent the Herd current quarterback Rakeem Cato, wide receiver Tommy Shuler, and defensive back Donaldven Manning. I asked Jean what his classmates thought of these guys, and he said, "We all look up to them guys because it all started with them.

Jean contacted Mirabal to let them know of his commitment and he said, "the coaches congratulated me and told me that now I have to keep on working." Jean said he knows he has to keep working hard and there will be no problem with that at all.

Jean is the third offensive lineman to commit to the Herd for the class of 2015 so far. Jean joins Arlington (Ohio) product Logan Grieser, and Spring Valley (West Virginia) prospect Alex Locklear.

Jean marks the 8th commitment for Holliday and his staff thus far. The current commit list is Chase Litton, Delvin Weems, Kyle Belack, Locklear, Grieser, Jeremiah Mitchell and Couch.
