Shortly after returning from his visit Brown decided that he was going to visit a couple more schools before making his decision. He was not going to commit to Marshall, but the visit made him realize that he wanted to take just a little bit more time before he made a decision.
The 5’10” two star defensive back with excellent speed (4.38), said he had a wonderful trip to Marshall. He said, “My visit to Marshall as great, I really enjoyed my time there. The coaches, players and the fans, everyone was just great.”
I asked him what were some of the things he liked about his visit. “The players have a real bond together. They are like a family. I really enjoyed being around all of them.”
He also got to meet with his lead recruiter, and also with the defensive coordinator, Chuck Heater. “I talked with Coach Heater. He has coached a log of great defensive backs in his career. He is a great guy and I really enjoyed every conversation that I had with him.”
Brown took in the game from the stands with the other visitors. He talked about getting soaked in the rain storm, but still having a great time. I asked him what he thought about the game. He said he loved it and, “I really thought they played great, especially on defense. I was very impressed. “
Brown was also impressed with what he saw from the Indoor Practice Facility. For years, prospective student athletes could only see where it was going to be built, and see drawings of what it was going to look at, but now, they get to see it first hand. Brown was very impressed. He said, “It looks great. I think it is the best looking indoor facility I have ever seen. It is very impressive, and the size of it is amazing.”
Brown still plans to take two additional visits prior to making his decision. “I will be visiting Western Michigan on September 20th, and Iowa State sometime in November. “ When asked when he planned on making a decision, he said, “I was planning on making it around this time but I decided I wanted to slow the process down and take some more visits before I choose. I will decide after I visit Iowa State sometime in November.
Brown also said, “Marshall is definitely a school that I am interested in, especially after my visit there this past weekend.”
