Grieser Talks Visit to Marshall

Logan Grieser is a hulking offensive lineman from Arlington High School, who committed to the Marshall Thundering Herd coaching staff back in June. He recently made another visit to the Huntington, West Virginia campus. Grieser was joined by fellow offensive lineman Alex Locklear, who has committed to the Herd, and Fredrick Johnson who also holds an offer from the Marshall staff.

Grieser is a 6’3”, 290 pound interior offensive lineman who committed to Alex Mirabal last month. Grieser is rated two stars with scout.com recruiting services. Grieser also had offers from Fordham and Lehigh.

I asked Grieser how his visit went and he said, “It was great being at Marshall on game day and getting to see all the tailgating and the support that the community has for the football program.” Grieser visited Huntington when the Herd played the Ohio Bobcats before over 31,000 fans. “I also was able to hangout with both Alex (Locklear) and Fred (Johnson.)

Grieser will join a young group along the interior offensive line next season. Grieser said, “I expect to play either offensive guard or center when I arrive at Marshall next summer.” Marshall will graduate two interior lineman in guard Blake Brooks and center Chris Jasperse. The Herd returns only Michael Selby who has any interior offensive line experience.

In addition to enjoying the game day atmosphere, Grieser also enjoyed other things on his visit. “We took a tour of the new indoor facility, which was awesome. I also got to go into the locker room after the game which was pretty cool.” Although he enjoyed the atmosphere and was impressed with the indoor facilities, neither was his favorite part of his visit. “My favorite part of the visit was getting to watch the Herd gain over 700 yards of offense for the second week in a row against Ohio.”

Grieser and his high school teammates are enjoying similar success as the tam he has committed to. “We are currently 4 – 0 (at the time of his visit). We just won over a team that was also undefeated until we played.”

Grieser joins fourteen other commitments for the 2015 recruiting class.
