National Signing Day is a week away. Marshall currently has the number one rated recruiting class in Conference USA, and they hope to improve on it as signing day gets closer.
This weekend, Marshall will play host to at least six official visitors who all hold offers from Doc Holliday and his staff. Will any of them commit to the program and help to extend the lead over second place UAB?
Time will tell, but first a quick look at the visitors for this weekend, then at the end, some bonus info as Herdhaven predicts how we think the next week will play out.
Sir Patrick Scott – Scott is a big time playmaker at the defensive back/safety position. The former Michigan commit is rated three stars by scout.com. He would play a key roll for the Herd in the future as the defensive back and safety positions are currently being manned by upper classmen such as Tiquan Lang, CJ Reavis, Kendall Gant, and Rodney Allen just to name a few.
JaQua Daniels – Daniels is a highly regarded running back from Georgia. The three star standout is most likely high on the Herd’s list in regards to players they covet. He would come in at running back and being right in the mix in the coming years with players such as James Allen, Keion Davis and Hyleck Foster, provided Foster stays at running back and is not moved back out to a position of need, wide receiver.
Pro Wells – Wells is currently an unrated tight end from Florida. He holds offers from Marshall, UCF and Iowa State and it appears at this time, those three are his favorites. He visited Iowa State this past weekend and reports say he had a good visit. Now it is time to visit Marshall. Wells committed to the Herd around Christmas time before opening his recruitment back up a couple weeks ago.
Jahmmir Taylor – Taylor is a Junior College wide receiver from Hinds Community College. Taylor would be a huge addition at a position of need for Marshall at this time. Currently Marshall has a commitment from three star Jacob McCrary, but adding Taylor would be a huge priority.
Larry Aaron – Aaron is a big defensive tackle flying under the radar at this time out of Florida. He would be a great addition to a position that lost three seniors this past season and will lose a couple more over the next two seasons.
Antwan Wright – A high school wide receiver who could come in and along with Chris Jackson who is already on campus, could be the future for the Herd on the outside.
