Ashland (KY) RB Arliss Beach Update

Ashland, KY running back Arliss Beach has laid down a verbal commitment , but that doesn't mean that recruiting is over for the Kentucky Mr. Football candidate. Beach has 799 yards in just four games this season...

Arliss Beach, a dynamic running back from Ashland, KY, has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky, according to his coach, Larry Hall. Beach was being actively recruited by UK, Ohio State, Purdue, and Marshall, among others.

Still, the picture doesn't look good for Marshall. According to Ashland coach Larry Hall, Marshall has backed off recruiting Beach since the verbal.

There's a lot to like about Beach, though, if you're a Marshall fan. Things like...
*Beach has rushed for 799 yards this season, in only four games. That's one yard short of 200 yards per game average.
*Ashland coach Larry Hall commented to Herd Insider that Beach is the best back he's ever coached in 31 years.

``He'll excel at the next level," Hall said recently in the Ashland Daily Independent. ``In another year, he'll be 205 pounds and maybe bigger. Then he's got a chance at that level."

``With Arliss (Beach), they've got an SEC back playing high school football," said Lawrence Co. (KY) coach Gary McPeek recently. "They've got a great team without him but, with him, they're superior."
