Herdhaven dives into the starting lineups to see how each player was rated coming out of High school/Junior College. Will it make a difference in the result? Time will tell.

It has been a couple tough weeks for Marshall as they have lost three straight games, one against Akron, and two against P5 schools, one of which was ranked third in the nation.  Now the Herd sets out to Denton, Texas to open CUSA play versus the Mean Green of North Texas.


Today we take an in depth look at the two projected starting lineups for this weekends games. will then break it down by star ratings based on the recruiting rankings for each player.  Of course, star ratings does not always determine a winner, but it did show very similar rankings in the earlier loss to Akron.


Overall Marshall holds the advantage in regards to star ratings throughout the starting lineups:


Marshall – 2.32

North Texas – 2.13


Marshall holds the advantage when comparing the Herd’s starting offense to the Mean Green’s starting defense


Marshall Offense – 2.27

North Texas Defense – 2.09


Marshall also holds the advantage when comparing the  Herd’s starting defense to the Mean Green’s starting offense


Marshall Defense – 2.36

North Texas Offense – 2.18
