Herd Offers Safety

Marshall offers a recruit at a position of need, safety. With Marshall having three upperclassmen on the depth chart, building depth here is a must.

The Safety position has been one of strength for the Marshall Thundering Herd defense this season with current players CJ Reavis, Kendall Gant, and Corey Neely leading the way nearly each week in tackles.  They are backed up by freshman Jeremiah Taylor and George Davis.

Reavis, and Gant have one more year to play, and Neely is finishing up his career over the next couple of months.  Safety will be a position of need this recruiting season.

Marshall has extended an offer to two star safety Tyree Gillespie, out of Ocala, Florida.

Gillespie is a 6’0”, 202 pound safety who is very athletic and finishes tackles.  Gillespie has multiple offers, most notably Iowa State, Louisville, Louisiana Tech and Marshall.

Getting a commitment from Gillespie would be a big get for the Thundering Herd Coaching Staff.
