The February 1st National Signing Day is quickly approaching. Marshall has been playing a numbers game the past two seasons, and nothing as tight as what they are battling this year. The class is nearly complete, but as many have seen over the past few years, Herd fans can expect more than a few expected academic non qualifiers to sign on the dotted line to be a part of the Class of 2018.
Below is a current list of what it appears the roster looks like as of January 20th.
And here is a look at what is working to make the Class of 2017, who is counting this year, some of the departures, who may be a NQ, etc. Keep in mind, these are the opinions of Herdhaven.com, and not associated with the university or the Football program in any way.
Marshall lost its three starting wide receivers from 2016, Deontay McManus and Michael Clark to the NFL, and Josh Knight to graduation. It is not surprising that at least three potential wide receivers will be visiting this weekend.
Ryan Jones - A four star big time wide out from Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Janiero Crankfield - A two star, very athletic wide out who is slightly underrated. Crankfield has already committed to Marshall
Kane Taylor - 6'3", 280 defensive tackle from Clearwater High School
DeCavilon Reese - Two star running back out of Cleveland, Ohio
Monterio Hunt - Three star athlete/wide receiver
Kenard King - 6'2" 180 pound two star athlete out of Aurburndale, Florida
