Herd Recruits Shine in Top-Ranked Matchup
Last week, Hargrave Military played perennial powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, and two of Marshall's recent verbal commitments had solid games against the top ranked Oak Hill cagers. Oak Hill won the scrimmage 87-85. The scrimmage was broken down into two halves with Oak Hill winning the first half 44-32, and Hargrave winning the second half 53-43.
Dave Telep of TheInsiders.com recruiting had the following comments on the two Herd commitments performances.
On Robert Strickland: "On the glass he was very, very good. That's his deal. He chips in a variety of little things and will also block some shots. Nice performance."
Telep on Renardo Dixon: "You walk away thinking he's a darn good athlete. He hit a few short jumpers and played with energy, and gave Hargrave good minutes."
By the way, in this game Dixon had to guard Sani Ibrhim, a 6'9", 225-pound power forward who is rated the 15th-best high school player in the nation.
