MU 20-4 Run Downs Ohio Bobcats, 74-60

"I just did my job," said Marshall's David Anderson. He was a huge part of a 20-4 second half run that Marshall used to dispatch the Ohio Bobcats, 74-60, on Saturday night at the Henderson Center in front of 5,861...

"In the first half, we came out a little flat," said Marshall guard Enoch Bunch. Bunch was the star of the first half, scoring 12 points (including two three-pointers). Marshall was down by five, 36-31, at the half.

And where Bunch left off, teammate David Anderson picked things up in the second half. Anderson added 12 points in the second half, part of a 20-4 run.

"I just stayed positive and went out there to try and help the team," Anderson said. Anderson's basket with 11:05 left in the game gave Marshall the go-ahead lead at 44-43. Over the next 5:58, Marshall literally blew the Bobcats out of the gym. Threes by Eric Smith and Ronny Dawn highlighted the 20-4 run.

Enoch Bunch navigated past Ohio's Jaivon Harris in the first half. Bunch had 12 points in the first half of Marshall's 74-60 win over Ohio on Saturday night.

"We had to cut down the turnovers and play the best we can," added Bunch of the Herd's second half run. After committing 12 turnovers in the first half, The Herd reduced that number to only 8 in the second half.

Marshall shot 43.6% for the game (24-of-55), including 7-of-26 three pointers (28.0%). Three Marshall players hit double figures, led by Bunch's 15 points and followed by Anderson (14 points) and Ronny Dawn's 10 points. The Marshall bench combined for 45 points on the night, highlighted by Eric Smith's 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Ohio was led by Sonny Troutman's 13 points, with Jaivon Harris and Delvar Barrett adding 11 apiece. Ohio shot 38.9% (21-of-54) from the field, but was out-rebounded by Marshall 41-32.

"We did our job at the end of the game," summed up David Anderson.

Marshall is now 7-8 overall and 4-3 in the MAC with the win. Ohio slides to 5-12 overall, 2-5 in the MAC, with the loss. Next up for The Herd will be a home game against the Miami RedHawks on Wednesday evening at 7pm.
