Akron Handed 15 Point Loss By Marshall Women

"The offense wasn't there, but playing good defense makes the offense come around," Marshall senior Catie Knable offered after The Herd cruised to a 70-55 win at Akron on Wednesday night...

And Knable also cruised into third place on the Marshall all-time rebound list, with 9 rebounds in the game (not to belittle her 17 points).

Marshall had a six-point (23-17) lead at the half, and extended that lead to as many as 17 points during the game. Teyonka Hodge scored 8 points and dished out a season-high 9 assists, feeding teammates Kim Griffin (10 points), Sikeetha Shepard-Hall (9 points), and Nadia Swanigan (7 points).

"It was a total team effort," Knable added. "We hustled and played hard tonight."

The win also tied the Marshall record for most MAC road wins in one season, with three. The Herd next plays at 2pm this Saturday afternoon, when the Eastern Michigan Eagles visit the Henderson Center.
