PA Quarterback Verbals to Marshall

According to sources in Pennsylvania, Marshall has a new quarterback. This 6-6, 205 pounder threw for 2,415 yards this past season, the second-highest total by a quarterback in the state of Pennsylvania in 2001. He's Byron Leftwich-like in not only height, but throwing ability, as well.

Adam Black, the 6-6, 205 pound QB from Keystone High School has reportedly committed to Marshall after making his official visit to Huntington this past weekend.

Black is a 6-6, 205-pound senior who set school records for completions, attempts, yards and touchdowns for both career and season. Black completed 147 of 280 passes for 2,415 yards and 30 touchdowns for the Panthers this season. He also threw just six interceptions.

In comparison, highly-touted Tyler Palko (committed to Pittsburgh) threw for 1,887 yards last year.

Black completed 376 of 777 passes for 5,338 yards and 55 touchdowns in his career. All this according to our good friend, Rich Vetock, of PAFootballnews.com .

Black's single-game high came in week 5 of the 2001 season, when he threw for 426 yards. That's a Byron Leftwich-type of number, to go along with his Leftwich-like height.

Herd Insider is attempting to reach Black for an interview later on this week. Stay tuned!
