Hargrave DB Has Sights Set On Marshall

A very talented defensive back at prep powerhouse Hargrave Military Academy has his eyes set squarely upon playing for Marshall, according to Hargrave coach Robert Prunty. In an exclusive interview with Herd Insider, Prunty tells us all about this 'master of the interception' from North Carolina...

Michael Hinton is a 6'3", 190 pound defensive back attending Hargrave this year after a stellar career at Cummings High School in Burlington, NC. In his senior year at Cummings, Hinton nabbed 9 interceptions and returned 4 of those for touchdowns.

And if that weren't impressive enough, Hinton also racked up 89 tackles and 27 pass break-ups in the defensive backfield. Hargrave coach Robert Prunty hinted that Marshall defensive coordinator Bill Wilt was highly aware of Hinton and was recruiting him heavily during the exclusive interview with Herd Insider on Monday, July 8, 2002.

Before attending Hargrave, Hinton was pursued by college football's Big Boys: Florida, North Carolina, Florida State, NC State, and Maryland all were knocking on his door.

Hinton also impressed those in attendance at the recent (April, 2002) Nike Camp held in Chapel Hill, NC, making a statement against the best receiver talent in the state of North Carolina.
