PA Linebacker Has Marshall On His Mind

Yet another Hargrave Military Academy player has Marshall on his short list, according to postgraduate football coach Robert Prunty. This one is a 6'3", 240 pound linebacker with all -and we do mean ALL- of the right qualities.

"He has a Ray Lewis-like mentality," Prunty said when asked about linebacker Patrick Bedics. "He plays at full throttle. And I mean a full throttle."

Bedics is a 6'3, 240 pound linebacker from Bethlehem (PA) Catholic High School who has all the right qualities that any Division 1 coach is looking for. He was a 3 year varsity starter at linebacker, and also started two years as a running back for the East Penn Conference champs. On defense, Bedics made 275 tackles, 44 sacks, 11 fumble recoveries and two interceptions during his career at Bethlehem. As a running back, he ran for 835 yards on 125 carries (6.68 yards per carry average) while racking up 23 touchdowns.

"He could play on Sundays," Hargrave coach Prunty added about Bedics. "He's pretty special."

At Hargrave's summer workout session, Bedics reeled off a 4.59 second forty yard dash, bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times, and displayed his 35" vertical leaping ability.

Patrick Bedics is playing in the Big33 game this weekend, which pits the best players from Ohio and Pennsylvania against each other. Herd Insider will keep an eye on the Big33 game, and report on Bedics' performance early next week.
