MU Coaches Summer Tour Continues

Marshall University will crank up the 2007 Coaches Tour for one stop this coming week with a stop in Ironton, then really get going after the Memorial Day holiday with stops in Parkersburg, Beckley, Charleston and Mingo County from Tuesday, May 29, through Tuesday, June 5. Then on June 13 and 14, the Tour will wrap-up with stops at the Logan Country Club and at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

The stops at Ironton, Ohio, Parkersburg and Hurricane (Sleepy Hollow C.C.) will be informational stops, along with food, drink and door prize. The stops in Charleston, Mingo County and Charleston will include dinners and golf. Marshall coaches like Mark Snyder (football), Donnie Jones (men's basketball) and Royce Chadwick (women's basketball), along with Olympic Sports coaches, athletic department persons and those from the Big Green Scholarship Foundation will be in attendance at all meetings and golf.

The Big Green raises scholarship monies for the Thundering Herd's over 400 student-athletes, and Marshall competes in 16 sports in Conference USA. Here is The 2007 Big Green Coaches Tour schedule for the rest of the summer:
• Tuesday, June 5, in Mingo County for a golf tournament (at Tug Valley Golf Course) and dinner, hosted by the MAD4MU Big Green club.
• Wednesday, June 13, in Logan for a golf tournament and a dinner (at the Logan County Country Club), hosted by the Logan Area Marshall Athletic Club.
• Thursday, June 14, in Teays Valley for a reception and informational meeting (at Sleepy Hollow Country Club), hosted by Putnam County Big Green leaders.

"Our coaches are excited about the opportunity to visit so many of our supporters," said Sam Stanley, director of the Coaches Tour. "The enthusiasm of Marshall fans is extremely evident at all our tour destinations."

The M-Club will also have another golf event, on August 17. The club will hold another golf outing at Glade Springs near Beckley. Call 304-696-3978 for information on that outing.
