Avon Lake High School Offensive Tackle Adam Schneid has seen his recruitment pace pick up, and Marshall is high on his list. Schneid stands 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 265-pounds, and while he may seem light to be an OT, he can still pack a punch. At the "Under Armour Scout Combine" on March 31 in Pittsburgh, Pa., Adam was named to the first team All-Combine Team. Adam has also been added to the ESPN Top 150 to Watch list, the J.J. Huddle Top 20 Offensive Lineman list, and is rated the number 102 prospect in the state of Ohio, according to J.J. Huddle.

Adam has been receiving attention from Marshall, Central Michigan, Ball State, and numerous other colleges. Recently, the talented tackle was visited at his school by assistant coaches from Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio State, Akron, and Bowling Green.

Last season at Avon Lake (along with teammate and fellow lineman Joe Coyne, who is also being targeted by the Herd) Schneid and company moved on to the second round of the playoffs and he is looking forward to another great season next year.

"Next season we return a lot of skilled guys," said Schneid. "Our entire front line should all be benching over 310 pounds"

The work doesn't stop in the weight room for Schneid, as he also works out at Speed Strength Gym, where former Ohio State wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr. also trains. For the next eight to ten weeks Schneid will be working on speed, power, and flexibility.

Schneid talked about what some of his strengths were. "Our team is a power running team, so I feel I am a good run blocker, but I can pass block well, and I have a good punch." Schneid knows there are still areas that he needs to get better in, stating "I am working on my hip turn, and definitely my flexibility."

So where is Schneid in his recruitment process? He has already taken visits to Akron, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, Ohio University, Central Michigan, all in the Mid-American Conference, and The Ohio State University. Where does Marshall stand? "Right now I have narrowed my recruitment down to a core group of ten." Is Marshall in the mix for Schneid? "I have a top three and that includes Marshall, Central Michigan and Bowling Green."

He has yet to set a date to come to Huntington and visit Marshall, but is in the process of doing that and will possibly make an appearance at Marshall's senior evaluation camp.

What is this tackle looking for in a school? "First thing is the coaching staff. I want a family atmosphere and honesty. Academics are also high on my list," adding that he is interested in studying Criminal Justice.

Schneid reports a 320-pound bench, 400-pound squat, 315-pound hang clean, a 5.2 second 40-yard dash and a 28-inch vertical.
