5 Star Kicker Pondering Marshall Visit

In an exclusive interview with Herd Insider, Ramapo (NJ) High School coach Drew Gibbs gives us the lowdown on kicker Richard Krautman. Krautman has been on a tear this year, setting state records and earning a 5-star rating from theInsiders.com.

According to Ramapo High School (NJ) head coach Drew Gibbs, Rick Krautman may be the best kicker in the US. After reviewing his credentials, coach Gibbs may be right.

Krautman set the record for All-Time Kicking points scored in New Jersey this past season. Richard was named to several prestigious (Prepstar, Max Emfinger, Varsity Magazine) pre-season All-American teams as well.

Coach Gibbs told Herd Insider, "Rick is ready to kick on the collegiate level right now. He has transitioned since last year to kick off the ground and not a box."

Krautman is only a place kicker and does not punt. "Fifty percent of his kickoffs were touchbacks. He gets really good height on his kicks," Coach Gibbs said.

Krautman is automatic on PATs, as he has made 66-of-67, including a state record of 58 in a row, an incredible stat.

Krautman has written offers from Rutgers and Hofstra. He is hearing from Syracuse and UVA as well. Gibbs told HI, "Marshall has been in contact with him and I know he would like to visit."
