Herd Insider has learned that Butler Community (KS) standout defensive lineman Jamaal Whyce has committed to playing for Marshall. The 6'2/275 defensive lineman originally from Miami (FL) Central High School originally signed with the Auburn Tigers coming out of high school. However, he landed at Butler due to academic difficulties.
Whyce made first-team All-Jayhawk Conference while at Butler and the Grizzlies went 10-2 and made an appearance in the Dixie Rotary Bowl in Utah, a bowl game for junior colleges.In his senior year at Miami Central High School, Whyce finished with 52 tackles, eight sacks, two caused fumbles and two recoveries.
Whyce will have a friend at Marshall in former Butler teammate WR Tremel Guillory, who also committed to play at Marshall and is currently in school in Huntington.
