Im still not 100 percent, but Im back to where I should be. Im playing real well right now and its definitely not holding me back, said Pankey. Im definitely going to play, but nothing is guaranteed. Coming off the injury, I think I can make an impact. Everyone has been working hard so were looking to have a good year.
Pankey took advantage of his summer by coming down to College Park early to get acclimated to the rigors of college as well as bonding with his fellow recruits and teammates. He believes it helped tremendously in adjusting to his new environment. It was a big transition from high school to college, but Im situated real well. Were like a family, and we get a long great. Im glad to be here.
With the transition phase essentially over for the promising freshman he can now look forward to seeing live action on the court. Terps fans should expect big things from Pankey as he has compared his game to that of New York Knicks star Amare Stoudemire. I crash the boards, block shots, and defend really well, while having the ability to knockdown open jump shots, but I am especially focused on rebounding.
Like most freshman they cannot wait to see the court for the first time, and although he has only been a student at Maryland for less than a semester Pankey is already showing signs of a true Terp. When asked what game he is looking forward to this year his immediate answer was, Duke. The Duke game was one of the times I wasnt able to come down, but I saw the atmosphere and it looked awesome. I cant wait to be apart of it, continued Pankey.
