Williams said, Im still looking at all of my options right now, but named Maryland, Toledo, and Illinois as the top contenders at the moment. Recently, Williams has been in contact with both Terrapin offensive coordinator Franklin, and head coach Friedgen. They have been telling me that Maryland is a place I will be able to call home, said Williams. The coaches believe it is a good place for me to mature, both as a person, and as a football player.
Maryland has continued to impress Williams throughout the recruitment process. The teams recent success has projected positively for the formally struggling program, as the bounce back season has stuck out to the recruit, It is great to see to the program get back on track, Williams explained. I can tell they are making their way back up.
Williams said his decision will come down to numerous factors outside of football, I want a family oriented school, where I can not only play but evolve as a person. The recruit has been thoroughly impressed with the Terps hospitality throughout the recruitment process; which is something he will definitely consider when making his decision, They have treated me as well as anyone. I already feel as if I will fit right in, said Williams.
For now, Williams is focusing on continuing his success in his final season at Dematha Catholic High School. Thus far, the cornerback has broken up over ten pass attempts, while proceeding to improve his open-field tackling, and confidence as well. Williams hopes to make his decision sometime in late December, after taking a few official visits. The recruit is scheduled to make his official visit to Maryland on December 10th, following the conclusion of his senior season.
