Braglio Impressed with Terps Early

2012 prospect Roman Braglio took a visit to College Park and TSR catches up with him to find out how the visit went.

Although early in his recruitment, defensive end Roman Braglio has drawn an immense amount of interest from schools including Penn State, Boston College, and University of Virginia; and also receiving offers from Maryland, and West Virginia. “A lot have schools have been attacking me aggressively,” said Barglio. “I've been very lucky to draw the interest that I have gotten so far.”

When scouts look at the star defensive end's 6-foot-4, 235-pound body, it quickly becomes evident as to why he is so attractive to so many schools, “Scouts have told me I have a physical advantage on most of my opponents,” explained Braglio. However, it is not only his size that is so impressive to these top-notch programs. Braglio cited his rare size-speed combination as the most attractive asset for most schools, “Most people at the defensive end position don't posses the size, speed, and power that I do,” said Braglio. “I'm continuing to work hard, I want to be the best out there.”

So far, Braglio has been extremely impressed with the new Maryland coaching staff, “I've spoken to Coach Edsall a few times,” said Braglio. “I have also spoken to the Coach Gattsuo when he was at Pitt, so it's good to know that I have solid relationships already with the staff.” The coaching staff is not the only important part of the recruits decision as he stressed the importance of academics at the next level, “I want to be a place that I will succeed both on the field, and in the classroom,” Braglio stated.

Braglio showed of his 4.6-second, 40-yard dash speed at a recent Maryland combine. However, it was not his first visit to the college park campus, “The campus is awesome,” Baglio explained. “It has a true college feel, which is something I am really looking for.”

The three-star recruit has a lot of time to make his decision, but says a school will stand out when he, “Just gets that feeling that I really belong, that I am truly wanted.” Braglio plans on making a number of visits over the next few months, but has nothing scheduled at this time.
