TSR went one-on-one with Gwynn Park junior Brandon Banks.

How was your season?

It was ok, we went 8-2 and won the county championship but didn't make the playoffs but overall I think I had a great season.

Wow, 8-2, a county championship and you didn't make the playoffs?

Yeah it was crazy, we missed it by _ a point

How did you do personally?

I think I had 33 catches for 438 yards, eight touchdowns and at cornerback I had seven interceptions.

What kind of contact have you had with Maryland since the recruiting process started?

I talk to Coach Hull my recruiting coach all the time and I visit when I can. I was just up there Friday visiting with the coaches.

How many times would you say you've been to College Park?

Too many to remember

What is your overall interest in the Terps?

It is a great program and it is close to home.

Are they an early favorite?

Yea, they are definitely #1

How would you describe yourself as a player?

I am smart, fast, explosive, with good technique.

What other schools are you hearing from?

Miami, Vanderbilt, and Towson

Which ones do you have offers from?

Maryland and Towson

What position is everyone recruiting you as?

Cornerback and athlete

What does Maryland want you as?


What college or pro player would you compare your game to?

I really don't know. One day I hope to be compared to Darrelle Revis, but right now I have to get a lot better to even say I am near.

What are you looking for in a program?

Tradition and good education.

No, not at all

Do you have any Junior Day visits planned or and Spring Game visits?

Maryland and Miami

What are your strengths and weaknesses and what are you working on most in the offseason?

My strengths would be that I'm very football smart. I do a lot of chalk talk and things like that with my father and brother and I have good technique. My weaknesses would be that I'm not that big. During the offseason I'm working on getting bigger and not false stepping in press.
