The Grizzlies of Grassfield comfortably defeated King's Fork on Friday, winning by a final score of 35-19. The Grizzlies (8-0) will take on Oscar Smith (7-1) next week.
Roman Braglio - DE - McDonogh
McDonogh pulled out a thrilling victory on Saturday knocking off Georgetown Prep by a score of 28-27. McDonogh (5-2) will take on Calvert Hall (6-1) next week.
Nick Brigham - OG - Marist
The War Eagles of Marist soundly defeated Lithonia on Friday night, winning by a final score of 42-12. Marist (7-1) will take on Mays (7-1) next week.
Caleb Rowe - QB - Blue Ridge High
The Fighting Tigers of Blue Ridge lost a close one Friday night, falling to league foe Greer by a score of 28-24. Greer battled back late to secure the victory. The Tigers (7-3) will take on Union County (4-6) next week.
Shawn Petty - QB - Roosevelt High School
The Raiders of Eleanor Roosevelt pulled out a close 14-12 victory over the visiting DuVal Tigers on Saturday. On a late fourth-and-eight, quarterback Shawn Petty connected on a 52-yard pass that set up the winning score for the Raiders. Unbeaten, Roosevelt (8-0) will take on High Point (0-8) next week.
Alvin Hill - CB - Luella High
The Lions of Luella held on Friday night to knock of Hughes by a final score of 20-13. The Lions (4-4) will face Westlake (2-5) next week.
Brock Dean - OLB - Bishop McDevitt
The Crusaders of Bishop McDevitt routed Hershey on Saturday, winning by a final score of 42-0. The McDevitt defense, led by standouts Brock Dean and Noah Spence, dominated Hershey from start to finish. The Crusaders (6-2) will battle Red Land (4-4) next week.
Joe Riddle - S - Linganore HS
The Lancers of Linganore pulled out a victory Friday night against Governor Thomas Johnson, winning 27-19. Senior safety/running back Joe Riddle suffered a broken ankle last week and will not be active for four to six weeks. The Lancers (6-2) will take on the Knights of Middletown (7-1) next week.
A.J. Liddell - WR - Chapel Hill HS
The Panthers of Chapel Hill put the hammer on Lithia Springs Friday in a 45-10 victory. The Panthers (5-3) will take on South Paulding (6-2) next week.
Malcolm Culmer - WR - Willingboro
Willingboro fell in a non-league matchup on Friday night to Pemberton, by a final score of 32-7. According to reports, star wide receiver Malcom Culmer did not play due to injury. The Chimeras (3-3) will take on Bordentown (1-5) next week.
P.J. Gallo - TE - Council Rock South
The Golden Hawks of Council Rock South coasted to a 35-14 victory Friday night, against league opponent William Tennent. In the win, Gallo caught three passes for 46 yards. Great thing about being a strong running team is it allows me to get open in the passing game, said Gallo in a postgame interview with Montgomery News. We played really strong (tonight), we were hitting on all cylinders.
Anthony Nixon - S - Central Catholic
Nixon's play was limited Friday as his Central Catholic team registered a 42-7 victory over Altoona. While on the field, Nixon caught two passes for 28 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown pass from Perry Hills. The undefeated Vikings (8-0) will battle against Fox Chapel (3-5) next week.
Amba Etta-Tawo - WR - McEachern HS
McEachern easily defeated North Cobb on Friday night, winning by a final score of 56-17. In the blowout, Etta-Tawo had six catches for 100 yards and one touchdown. The Indians (7-1) will take on Harrison (3-5) next week.
Sean Davis - CB - Maret School
The Frogs of Maret suffered a crushing 54-15 defeat on Saturday at the hands of Flint Hill. Sean Davis rushed 18 times for 141 yards and one touchdown on a 52-yard carry. Davis also caught seven passes on the day for 126 yards. The Frogs (4-3) will take on St. James (1-6) next week.
Perry Hills - QB - Central Catholic
Hills saw limited action again this past week as the Vikings of Central Catholic handled Altoona by a score of 42-7. Hills completed four of six passes for 65 yards and one touchdown. The unbeaten Vikings (8-0) will face Fox Chapel (3-5) next week.
Stefan Houston - OLB - Clarksburg HS
The Cougars of Clarksburg came close on Friday, but in the end Quince Orchard prevailed 21-14 in 2OT. Stefan Houston's leaping block of a field goal attempt in overtime sent the game to a second extra period, but the Cougars proved too much to handle. Houston had a 2-yard touchdown reception in the loss. Clarksburg (5-3) will take on Bethesda - Chevy Chase (4-4) next week.
