According to linebackers and journalists everywhere, with Indian River (VA) running back Brandon Ore is simply hard to make contact, but it is obvious to college coaches his football talent is real.

"I have five offers, from Penn State," says 6-foot-2, 195 pounder, who ran for 963 yards on 9.2 yards per carry for 11 touchdowns in 8 games as a junior. One team currently has a slight lead above the rest.

"It would probably be Virginia Tech because Coach (Vince) Beamer has been to the school and had a lot of good things to say to me. It is just that I really related to what he had to say, but I want to wait and see who else will offer before I commit."

Recruited as a running back, Ore says it is his speed, quickness, and field vision which helps him on Friday nights.

"I have good eyes for the field, and I can see things well on the field. At a combine a few weeks ago, I ran a 4.4 40, had a 38-inch vertical, and ran a 3.9 pro shuttle."

Ore also has a 285 pound bench and 450 pound squat.
