RB Commit Joe Riddle- A Coaches Take

TSR caught up with Linganore head coach Rick Connner to discuss Terp commit Joe Riddle.

What type of season did Joe have?

He was explosive. He had some long runs. He was so much more polished as a running back this year than he was last year. His ability to run inside and outside was great. We run a lot of stretch plays and he was so much harder to tackle this year.

What are his strengths?

He has super speed. That is what he hangs his hat on.

What are some things he needs to work on?

The biggest thing for Joe is he will need to understand the reads and make the cut and explode up field and not hesitate. He lifts like crazy. He is pound for pound the strongest guy we have ever had here at Linganore. He has the physical tools. He will probably need to work on catching the ball a bit too, if they want him to be a return guy.

What is he like off the field?

Maryland is getting a great kid. He is quiet. Not a big party guy. Joe would much rather go fishing on a Friday night then somewhere else. He is a big lifting and training guy and loves football. That is his life.

What type of leader is Joe?

He is a quiet leader. He does his work. He gets the reps in practice, runs 40-50 yards and then comes back. No one works as hard as Joe. That is his calling card, no one is going to work harder than Joe.
