It almost looks like he's grown two inches since January. "Everyone when they see me says that they can tell I grew," Gay, who is now 6-8 and 215, said.
His status as a prospect has grown in line with his height. The Archbishop Spalding senior to be is fielding offers from the big timers. Maryland, Connecticut, Syracuse, Villanova, North Carolina State, Georgetown and Indiana have offered, according to Gay. Florida and Arizona are interested.
Gay, however, is in no hurry. He's prepared to wait. "I'll probably just soak everything up during the summer and see what they have to say."
Meanwhile, the one-time guard prospect is adjusting his growing body and blossoming skills. "[The growth spurt] changed my game a lot. At first, I was trying to be a regular guard. At 6-7, I would have been tall in high school playing the guard. Now, it's easier for me to score in the post and shoot over people on the wing."
