Meeting the Terps Offense: #4 Nick Brigham

College Park, MD. - TSR gets you acclimated with the 2012 Terps, first looking at the offense.

Player: Nick Brigham

Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.

Class: Freshman

Height & Weight: 6-foot-2, 280 pounds

Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup guard

The rundown: A three-star freshman recruit out of Marist School in Georgia, Brigham has been told by the Terps that he will play either at guard or at center at College Park. An experienced run-blocker who is quicker off the ball, Brigham will need to work on his pass-blocking after playing in a triple option offense in high school. He has the physical skills and has gotten about 20 pounds bigger since his high school season, but will need to improve to become a more complete offensive lineman.

Expectations for 2012: Brigham is listed as the third-string left guard on the preseason depth chart and will likely not make too much of an impact for the Terps in 2012. His weaknesses in pass protection are something that needs to be fixed before he can have a consistent role on the offensive line. He will need some more time with the team to develop his physical talents and will have a chance to learn from the more experienced lineman in front of him.
