Meeting the Terps Offense: #10 Tyler Cierski

College Park, MD. - TSR gets you acclimated with the 2012 Terps, first looking at the offense.

Player: Tyler Cierski

Hometown: Dacula, Ga.

Class: Sophomore

Height & Weight: 6-foot-0, 225 pounds

Projected Position on Depth Chart: Starting fullback

The rundown: Cierski may only be a sophomore, but he already has a lot experience, playing in all 12 games last season as the team's number one fullback. He did not get his first official start until late in the season against Notre Dame, even though he saw a starter's playing time throughout the season. Cierski was one of the top fullbacks recruited in his year and proved to be a big contributor both in the running game and on special teams. He caught one pass last season for a touchdown against Towson and carried the ball four times for five yards.

Expectations for 2012: Cierski will be the starting fullback this season after playing as the number one fullback for the Terps in 2011. He will continue to be a force on the ground game and will help with blocking and pass protection. He may also see more of a role in the new pro-style formation under offensive coordinator Mike Locksley and may see a few more passes thrown his way. The tailbacks will get the most carries, but look for Cierski to get a few rushes in short yardage situations next year. While still a sophomore, Cierski has earned the starting role for the foreseeable future going forward.
