Meeting the Terps Offense: #16 Amba Etta-Tawo

College Park, MD. - TSR gets you acclimated with the 2012 Terps, first looking at the offense.

Player: Amba Etta-Tawo

Hometown: Powder Springs, Ga.

Class: Freshman

Height & Weight: 6-foot-2, 175 pounds

Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup wide receiver

The rundown: Etta-Tawo is a speedy freshman receiver from Georgia. At McEachern High, Etta-Tawo ran track, running as part of the 400-meter relay runner up team for the Class 5A state championship. He has been clocked at around 4.4 seconds for the 40-yard dash. With his speed, Etta-Tawo can gain separation from the secondary and can provide the Terps with another deep threat.

Expectations for 2012: Etta-Tawo is at the bottom of a crowded wide receiver position and will probably sit out his first season unless he really impresses the team during the off-season. He is listed as the third receiver at the “X” position below Kevin Dorsey and Devin Burns. He also faces competition from fellow freshmen Stefon Diggs, Levern Jacobs and Tyrek Cheeseboro and sophomores Nigel King and Marcus Leak. The Terps are deep at the receiver spot, which should give Etta-Tawo a year to develop before he sees the field as a Terrapin
