Projected Position on Depth Chart: Starting guard
The rundown: Fulper is a seasoned offensive lineman who has a total of 22 starts on the line in his three years as a Terrapin. Fulper can play both guard positions and the center position, starting the first 10 games of last season at center before an injury kept him out against Wake Forest and N.C. State. He has started a total of 18 games at the center position and helped the offense rank third in the ACC in rushing with 169.3 yards per game and fourth in fewest sacks allowed with 1.4 per game.
Expectations for 2012: The Terps' coaching staff moved Fulper to left guard this off-season, giving Sal Conaboy the start at the center position for now. Fulper should start the season at either the guard or the center position and will help bring experience and some familiarity to a new-look offensive line. Fulper will see a good amount of playing time, but may also find himself in a backup role later in the season to allow the younger and less experienced lineman to develop. Fulper will ready to fill in at either the guard or center spots, so if he does not start, he should still be heavily used in his last season.
