Projected Position on Depth Chart: Backup tackle
The rundown: Madaras is one of the three Our Lady of Good Counsel players that the Terps added to the team this past spring along with running back Wes Brown and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Madaras was one of the best players in the state last year and has the physical skills necessary to succeed at the college level. He led the Falcons to a 12-0 record and the title of Washington Catholic Athletic Conference champions in his senior year.
Expectations for 2012: Madaras is third on the depth chart at left tackle behind Nick Klemm and Ryan Doyle, but he is the best offensive lineman of the group. While Klemm may start the regular season, it is very likely that Madaras will take over the starting position very early in the season. Not only does Madaras have the skill set and size to be a great blocker, but he also has chemistry with his high school teammate, Wes Brown, which could be another reason that Madaras may be given a starting tackle spot sometime next season.
