Tabor Talks Favorites
Friendship Collegiate (Washington D.C.) four-star cornerback Jalen Tabor, has four schools at the top of his list, but says there is definitely a clear-cut favorite.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound, Tabor crowned Florida his leader, after showing up to the Next Level Nation Five-star combine on March 9, clad in orange and blue and added Florida State, Alabama and Notre Dame also rate high on his list.
However, Tabor said Maryland remains heavily involved.
"Maryland is definitely right there," said Tabor. "I could easily just say I want to go to Maryland one day. It was a dream of mine growing up just to make our city proud of what Maryland has to offer."
Hometown pride is great, but how much of a factor is it for the Tabor?
"It makes me want to go there a lot," said Tabor. " To walk out there knowing you have the chance to be the ‘the man' in your city, it's big."
Tabor says he thinks about the impact of keeping the region's top talent in state.
"A lot of these guys go out of state and the other states get credit for them," said Tabor. " Guys like, Tavon Austin at West Virginia, and Joe Haden at Florida. It could create something special if everyone just stays here. It could be big."
In addition, Tabor says Maryland's relationship with Under Armour is a huge plus.
"I am a flashy guy," said Tabor. "I like to look flashy when I get out there on the field and those uniform are right there, so it is definitely a plus."
Tabor has not been back to College Park since his Junior Day on Feb.16, but says he will go back this spring for practice adding, "I live closer to College Park than my own high school."
Tabor also said he wants make his decision on signing day.
