Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha linebacker JaWhaun Bentley got a chance to visit Maryland last week not just once, but twice. Bentley attended the Terps practice last Thursday with his high school team and returned on Friday for Maryland's spring game.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker said Thursday's practice was more of a walk through, but he was impressed with the action he saw during the spring game on Friday.

"I thought it was a good hard fought game on both sides, even though it was a tie," Bentley said. "It was a good experience for me to see the guys in action."

Following the game, Bentley got a chance to catch up with some of the Maryland coaches to talk about his experience.

"They asked how I liked the game and [want me to] look for later times I can come visit," Bentley said. "They are saying that I am a perfect fit with the team."

After Bentley's visits last week, the Terps seem to be in good position with the three-star linebacker. However, at this moment he is still not ready to make any decisions.

"Maryland is one of my top schools at the moment," Bentley said. "I feel that Maryland still one of the schools I could possibly see myself; however, I could say that about other schools as well."

Bentley holds offers from Iowa, UMass, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Maryland and Virginia. Another school that could come into play is Penn State. Bentley does not currently have an offer from the Nittany Lions but he will be attending the Spring Game in Happy Valley, Pa. this weekend.

In the meantime, Bentley will be working hard this offseason by hitting the weight room and focussing on football.

"I am really focusing on perfecting my craft, "Bentley said. "Becoming a better athlete and taking advantage of many opportunities."
