Terps Take on East Region Notes

A look at the latest new in the East Region as it relates to the Terps...

Scranton (Pa.) Prep's Noah Beh was already a long shot for the Terps, but his fate was confirmed this weekend when he verbally commitment to Penn State. Beh, who is 6-foot-6, will enter Penn State as an offensive tackle. ?

St. John's College High (Washington D.C.) 2014 quarterback commit Will Ulmer was back on campus last week with his fellow Cadet teammate cornerback Omar Truitt. Truitt recently picked up an offer from the Terps and was expressing some interest in his hometown team. Truitt's recruitment began to heat up recently as the three-star prospect picked up offers from Maryland, Iowa and Miami of Ohio, but he put a quick end to it when he committed to Iowa on Monday. The St. John's College High (Washington, D.C.) standout said chose the Hawkeyes because of ability to develop NFL cornerbacks.

Maryland pulled an under-the-radar commitment with David Shaw of Spring Grove (Pa.) High. Two of his brothers played at Penn State, but Shaw said he was too young to be a Penn State fan. Shaw was recruited to play nose guard, and said he will try to enroll in January but is unsure if it will happen. ?

Shaw did not have any other offers, but he had picked up the offer from Maryland back in January. He was also getting interest from a couple of other schools including UConn, Temple and PSU.

Hunterdon Central High (Flemington, N.J.) linebacker Jason Cabinda picked up a Maryland offer and said the Terps are in his top three. He seemed high on the Terps even before officially picking up the offer, but Cabinda also has Syracuse and Boston College in his top three.

Millville (N.J.) High defensive lineman Antoine White, who picked up an early offer from Maryland, has been quickly picking up offers and the latest came from Syracuse. White also has offers BCS from Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, North Carolina and Vanderbilt and he recently told NE Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn he is getting close to trimming his list.

Coatesville (Pa.) High linebacker Tyler Burke, who remains very high on the Terps, picked up a Virginia Tech offer as did DeMatha Catholic running back Taiwan Deal, who also holds an offer from Maryland.
