Coatesville Area (Pa.) Senior High School 2014 athlete Tyler Burke has narrowed his list of schools down to two, Rutgers and Maryland. Burke visited Rutgers on June 11 and now he is headed down to College Park for what could be his last trip.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Burke has already been down to Maryland several times with his Dad, but today is the first time his mom is making the trip to College Park.
"Me and my dad have been down there a ton, so this trip is really for my mom because she hasn't seen it [Maryland] yet," Burke said. "She wants to check out the campus and talk to some of the academic advisors and stuff. She is pretty excited."
Burke said he looks to his parents for guidance but at the end of the day his college decision will fall on his shoulders.
"My dad just tells me that I am going to be there for the next four years of my life," Burke said. "He wants me to make sure I make the right decision because he knows it could impact the rest of my life."
The three-star stand out has continued to hear from recruiter John Dunn and is feeling the love from the Terps.
"He is saying the same stuff, how they need me at Maryland and how they really want me there," Burke said. "It definitely feels good to hear that. I am still feeling really good about them and everything."
Burke previously said he would make a trip to Wisconsin on June 29 but he has since cancelled that trip after narrowing his list to Maryland and Rutgers. With his trip to Rutgers behind him, Burke he could be on the brink of making his final decision after his trip to College Park today.
"If everything goes fine on the visit it will come down to those two, Rutgers and Maryland," Burke said. "I just have to see how the visit goes tomorrow and everything before I make any decisions. "
